why does nobody ever talk about the media’s fetishization of lesbianism like why do people only get mad when gay dudes get fetishized

#thank you #grown men have been fetishizing lesbians for decades but as soon as teenage girls start fetishizing gay dudes the world explodes

MTV Remote Control Blog Article

  • “While the likelihood of ever witnessing sexytime between Derek/Stiles is pretty slim”
  • It’s a wonder Sterek and a legion of young women don’t take over the entire world”

You may think you’re being cute, but you’re not. Sterek fans have said over and over and OVER again that what we see in Derek and Stiles is the potential for a really epic relationship. Their personalities and experiences make for a truly incredible mix that we want to watch happen. It’s not all about sex, so maybe bring your own mind out of the gutter, because for every PWP fanfic out there, there are tons more with amazing development and trust building.

As for the “slim chances” slight, you don’t know that. There is *nothing* but gender standing in the way of this relationship and I have faith that’s a hurdle that will be overcome.

The Sterek fandom is *far* from being just “young women.” This is a fandom of extreme diversity across ALL dimensions, including age and gender. This pairing has reached everyone

Stop using stereotypes and demeaning slights to de-legitimize and stigmatize us. We won’t stand for it.

i’d just like to take this brief time to remind everyone who asserts that the internet is full of leeches who pirate and steal hollywood’s “property” and don’t think that there needs to be a new business model for the way hollywood funds and markets film that a relatively small fandom of a relatively small show is about to raise 2 million dollars in 24 hours just because a cast they used to love asked for their help.

so much this

dianariggslegs:

Steve Rogers is not afraid of strong women.
Steve Rogers is not afraid of strong women.
Stop it with the fic where Steve is terrified of Natasha, or Maria, or Pepper, or guh, Darcy. I guess people think it’s cute, or whatever.
Seriously. Strong women don’t make Steve scared, they make him swoon.
The only thing Steve is afraid of is that strong women won’t like him.

I have this problem where I would much rather read the story I’m trying to write than actually write it.

Misha’s fantastic acting can be backed by the fact that I regard Misha and Cas as two separate beings. You know what I mean? Like, I know Misha plays Cas, but when I see Cas, I never think ‘oh, Misha’, I think ‘oh, Cas’. Like, Misha and Cas don’t even register on the same page in my brain.

reason 132: because our fans have taken out precious time to name reasons why you should save them. If that isn’t enough for you, then what was the point of creating the series at all?

[Parents should] recommend some books with female leads that your son would enjoy reading. If your next question is “Why?,” then ask your daughter why she liked Harry Potter. She might say it was a good story, great characters, and a fantastic world. Who cares if the main character was a boy? In fact, girls will pick up a book with a hero or heroine equally. According to my excellent librarian resources, boys will actively avoid books with a girl as the main character. What’s the problem? I have no idea. Why should you encourage your son to read books with heroines? That’s easy. You want your son to grow up knowing that a strong female for a friend, wife or boss is normal and good.
